English Enrichment Program
The Intensive English and Orientation Program (IEOP) offers non-credit English Enrichment short-courses during the fall and spring semesters. These enrichment courses are provided for international graduate students, faculty, staff and visiting scholars at Iowa State University.
Classes meet on the ISU campus for an hour and a half two evenings per week for six weeks. There are two different sessions held each semester. The fee for each course is $175, due before the course begins.
The instructor is Joan Chamberlin, who has a Master's degree in TESOL and has taught for many years at universities abroad providing classes and workshops in professional academic English for faculty in various disciplines.

Oral Skills for Academic Presentations and Discussions

- oral presentation techniques
- practice presentations
- professional discussion strategies
- individual pronunciation feedback

Talking About Culture and Current Events
Areas covered:
- informal conversation
- idiomatic expressions and slang
- current periodical readings and discussion
- cross-cultural comparison
Maximum enrollment: 16
